7 x Inspiring Ways To Use Gold Flower Stands in Your Wedding Styling

Updated: Jun 7, 2020

Party Squared are now the proud owners of a collection of elegant gold geo table centres. Available in tall and grande, these versatile hire items can be used on both long banqueting tables and large circular tables to great effect. They can hold floral arrangements large and small and look striking in all venues, particularly those with high ceilings.

The plinths are great for adding impact to your venue décor and are ideal for those couples who love tall table centres and large floral arrangements. The best thing about these table centres is that they allow your guests to see across the table and converse with others, as well as see right across the event space. No-one’s view is obstructed; meaning everyone gets to see the happy couple and those all-important wedding speeches.

1) A TOUCH OF LUXE

One of the great things about these plinth stands, is that they are gold. They can be easily co-ordinated with high end wedding table decor to create the most luxurious and cohesive of tables. This guest table has been loaded with elegant and luxurious tableware and combined with simple yet lush greenery arrangements from Botany Flowers. The example below, sourced via Pinterest from WedLuxe, shows how coordinating décor and sticking to a clean and crisp colour palette as well as using metallic accents, can instantly create an opulent feel. You too, can opt to add gold edged glass charger plates, gold cutlery and gold rimmed glassware, by hiring from luxury wedding hire companies; including Party Squared.

2) VERY GRAND DESIGNS

Everyone loves gold geo stands. I love them best when topped with very large, unstructured and trailing arrangements with lots of texture. The statement arrangements shown in the image below are from Charlie Mac Design via Style Me Pretty. They are very beautiful and very grand. However, you are likely to blow your entire décor budget on arrangements like this. If you are looking for something a little less grand and want tips for maintaining the impact but reducing the costs, read on.

3) ON A BUDGET

Combining fewer tall arrangements with low floral runners or small vase arrangements is a great way to maintain the overall appearance of this elegant floral table design, whilst reducing the flower budget slightly. This banqueting set up demonstrates this perfectly. It shows stands hired from Enticing Tables placed in the centre of the long tables only. Floral arrangements from Soiree Design and Events are more modest than in some of the other photos in this blog, but the impact remains. This is because the colours are bold and the greenery runner with pops of colour, continues the stylists design the full length of the table, without the need for more tall arrangements. As the tables are long the focus only needs to be on the centre section.

However, if budget is not an issue, why not consider having arrangements both on top of the stands as well as underneath? Another idea is to place vases of candles in groups and varying heights at the base of each stand.

4) BOHO STYLE

Looking for something bohemian for your outdoor ceremony? These plinths suit whimsical unstructured arrangements with pampas grass and exotic flowers, both indoors and outdoors.

Using different heights creates interest and draws the eye to the centre of the backdrop. This set up mirrors the architecture in the background and will also frame the couple beautifully during their ceremony.

A good way to maximise your styling budget is to repurpose your décor. I don't mean after the wedding, but throughout the day. An idea could be to move the stands from the ceremony to your reception tables. The plinths could be used as table centres, placed at either end of the top table or used as a cake stand. With a stylist co-ordinating your day, guests won't even notice the changes being made.

5) SOMETHING SPECTACULAR

Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons! Be bold with colour and your flower choices to create a statement wedding style just like this Pampas grass wedding found on Pinterest. A spectacular array of pink Pampas grass on super tall plinths make a fantastic backdrop for a unique wedding ceremony.

6) 360º FLOWERS

Plinths don't have to be used traditionally either. Instead of having flowers placed on top, I like to see arrangements that appear to be growing up from the ground, climbing all around the stand like a garden rose on a trellis. This idea is perfect for garden weddings and outdoor elopement ceremonies just like this one by Modern Elopement

7) COMBINING SEVERAL TRENDS

You could combine several trends to create something new and interesting. For example; flower towers as aisle markers, a hanging floral installation above and a candlelit walkway could make an ultra-modern industrial / romantic fine art wedding. This shoot found on Magnolia Rouge combines these trends beautifully.
